Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timberline® SQ 2XT 2 Person Tent One of the best, if not the best tent I ever owner. I bought a tent @ REI in the late 70's as a 2nd - it had a few pinholes in the fly. I camped with it all over the US, lived in it on Big Pine Key, FL for 6 months raised on plywood & milk crates to stay dry when it poured rain - campground would flood up to 4- 6". After those adventures I used it in Mexico, Central America and South America. The tent never failed me. I moved onto a larger Sunrise 11 but the Timberline served me admirably for 3 decades. Don't ever stop making it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tent - 30 years and still going strong I purchased the original Timberline 2 person tent around 1980 for camping on my motorcycle trips to the Poconos. I've used it dozens of times in all weather conditions....It never failed me. Very lightweight and compact yet strong, durable and well made. After 30 years, the aluminum poles and plastic parts are still good but the elastic bands are shot and the waterproof coating needs to be washed off and re-applied but I'm not complaining.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timberline - Three Generations of Memories I bought mine in the summer of 1977. When a friend bailed on a hike in 1978 my father took a couple of weeks off work and we did 65 miles of the Bruce Trail up near Tobermory with the Timberline... It didn't take long before I could put it up "by feel" in the dark. Vestibule was always a great help... Shortly after our honeymoon in 1981, my wife and I took it to the NW corner of Algonquin Park... still remember meeting up with a moose in an oxbow creek... Later on in 2006, our son wanted to do some "serious" camping (no trailer park for him) and back to Algonquin we went. We took a friend and his young family. I had restored an old square-stern Peterborough which was absolutely brutal to portage but, a gem with a 58 Johnson 3 HP to tow the other canoe. Friends daughter caught a 16" bass with a Barbie fishing rod from the shore of our island campsite. Still remember waking up and looking out the screen at moonlight over the water of that site. When he finished his first year of University, we took it out to the East side of Algonquin. Bit of a washout trip but, great bonding moments sitting on the beach. My son has dragged it out a couple of times to crash during university parties. I beg him to be careful with it. He will be using it this weekend again. This summer we will do what will be one of our last canoe trips together if the plan goes well. Yea... shock cords are a little worn... sealer is peeling a bit... it's coming on 40 years though... I will look back through my pics and see if I can find a photo or two. Thinking about it, I may have bought it in 1976...

I've a two-man Timberline I purchased around 1975: Awesome! The fly however has flown! Wondering if the fly for your new Timberline might work for my old tent? If not, perhaps you may have some old flys warehoused??? Thanks!! Patrick Reed

Asked by: PREED
Hi Patrick, Thank you for your question. I am glad that you have been able to enjoy your tent for so many years :) Due to the design of the newer tents the rain fly is not compatible. If you would give us a call at 1-800-572-8822 8am-5pm EST Mon-Fri, we would love to discuss other options.
